Game Review
9-13-20
Green Bay Packers at Minnesota Vikings
Pick: Packers ML
Our first NFL Sunday was a success! The Packers opened up as +3 underdogs on the road against Minnesota. In a strange season with no fans, it’s hard to really quantify home-field advantage. The traditional metric of 3-points for the home team would mean that this game would have been even on neutral turf. Seeing as though Aaron Rodgers should be more than comfortable playing at US Bank Arena, the 3-points was basically a moot point. The Vikings have certainly not gotten worse as a team, but their defense looks very different. Massive personnel overhaul could force schematic changes that just feel unaccounted for. While I do think his best days are behind him, Aaron Rodgers certainly showed that he and the Packers are still a threat in the NFC.

Final: 43-34 Packers
Seattle Seahawks at Atlanta Falcons
Pick: Seahawks ML (-115)
Fading the Falcons is something I’m likely going to do often in 2020. Although their offense with Matt Ryan, Julio Jones, and Calvin Ridley is still capable of puttin gup 20+ points a night, their defense is just awful. In my draft recap and on The Noise Podcast, I have thoroughly mentioned my disgust with the Falcon’s decision making regarding defensive personnel. This game worried me a bit, because of the rapid change in line move. The Seahawks opened at about -1.5 and went up to -2.5. On game-day it came back down to -1 and that’s where I entered on the moneyline. This game actually ended up closing at around -1 for the Falcons. I could have got a better number but there was no reason to cost-average a moneyline play. Sharps might have been weary of Pete Carroll’s in-game decision making, but seeing Chris Carson catch passes and score twice made Fantasy owners everyday proud. Russell Wilson and Chris Carson fanfare aside, I have high hopes for this Seahawks team if it’s offensive-line and defensive playmakers can stay healthy enough to allow Wilson to win games for them.
Final: 38-25 Seahawks
