Detroit Tigers at Chicago White Sox
Pick: Tigers ML (+140)
Here we had a clash of the titans, prospect style. Top pitching prospects Casey Mize (DET) and Dane Dunning (CHW) went head to head in this one, with Mize having significant plus money on his side. Although the White Sox offense is scorching hot, their metrics seemed much higher against left-handed pitching. To get such a big price disparity on two unknown pitchers was enough for me to pull the trigger on Mize.
In reality, although Mize was able to keep the White Sox in check, Dunning did a nice job with the underwhelming Tigers. It was the bullpen that did us in, with Gregory Soto unable to hold the lead, giving up 8th inning homers to Jose Abreu and Edwin Encarnacion. After both starters exited with a 3-3 tie, the advantage towards the White Sox was even higher.

Final: 5-3 White Sox
Utah Jazz vs. Denver Nuggets
Pick: Jazz +3.5
After a tough overtime loss in Game 1 of this series, we had a good spot to back the Jazz. The Jazz could possibly be the better team in this series, even though they suffer from a lack of depth. The Nuggets defense was supposed to be good, but it simply hasn’t been, especially in the bubble. Sharps knocked this line down from +4 to the closing number of +3 or even +2.5. I liked the Jazz in this one and was move than happy to take the points before the line got too low. It ended up being for naught, as the Jazz picked up the win in convincing fashion.
Final: 124-105 Jazz
Overall:
Nothing doing this week. It’s been chalky throughout the week, so I took a few swings and misses in MLB today. Remember, the goal is always weekly profit! Be patient and stay sharp.
