This was tough. The Celtics blew a double-digit lead and then got outclassed in the final sequences of the game. Up 5 with a minute left, the Celtics allowed a 3-pointer from Tyler Herro with little contention. On the next play the refs had a huge gaff, not calling a foul on Kemba Walker’s layout attempt. This led to Jimmy Butler’s step-back three, giving Miami the lead with 22 seconds left. Marcus Smart drew a clutch foul, allowing the Celtics to tie the game on a technical free throw. They had almost a full shot-clock and ended up with a contested Jayson Tatum deep three-pointer. In overtime they were not able to withstand Miami’s momentum. Rough loss.
